Capturing Real Moments for Families Across Cavan & Monaghan
Hi, I’m Marika, a wife, photographer, and mammy to three very active boys — the reason I learned how to take natural, emotional, real-life photos full of movement… and sometimes pure chaos.
Honestly? The best pictures are never planned. I learned that quickly.
When my first son was born, I took tons of photos. As he got more active, I realized I needed a better camera… then better skills… then even more patience. By the time my second and third boys arrived, life was full of noise, mess, running feet, missing socks, and moments happening faster than I could catch them. So I learned how to manage it — not the mess (still working on that!), but how to photograph the real magic inside it.
I fell in love with capturing children exactly as they are:
with their favourite places, favourite toys, messy hair, torn knees, missing first tooth, first bike ride, all the little everyday moments that become the big memories.
My photography grew with me and with them.
A Journey That Started Long Before It Became a Business
I actually photographed my first wedding and first communion nearly 20 years ago — back when photography was “just a hobby”. I still laugh about the wedding, because the bride ended up fighting with her photographer… after seeing that my photos (the hobbyist!) were better than the ones she had paid a fortune for.
The same thing happened with Communion photos.
That’s when I realised photography wasn’t just something I liked — it was something I was naturally meant to do.
Today: My Passion & My Business Combined
Life brought me to Ireland, to county Cavan, to motherhood, to weddings, communions, events, studio work, and storytelling for families all over Cavan and Monaghan. Now I get to combine my passion with my business and share my love for photography with clients whose own stories are waiting to be told.
Every family, every couple, every child has a unique story — and my job is to capture it honestly, naturally, and beautifully.
Whether it’s a wedding, a communion morning at home, a family running through a field, or a business needing strong brand images… I bring the same heart:
