Kaja’s Special Day: First Holy Communion Memories

March 29th, 2025 was a big day for Kaja — her First Holy Communion! The weather wasn’t exactly on our side (it had been raining since morning), so outdoor photos were off the table, but that didn’t stop the day from being beautiful in its own way.

I joined Kaja and her family at their home in Cavan town to capture the morning preparations. There was such a lovely calm in the house. Kaja was excited, but so composed — you could tell this day really meant something to her. Her mum was just the same: calm, focused, and full of love as she carefully did Kaja’s hair, paying attention to every little detail.

Kaja’s sisters were buzzing around too — helping out, passing accessories, and just being there. It was sweet to see how involved and supportive they were. The energy in the house was a mix of quiet excitement and family closeness, and it was a joy to document.

Once her hair was done, it was time to put on the beautiful communion dress. Kaja looked absolutely stunning — and of course, she had to give it a few spins to test it out! With everything in place, it was time to head to St. Patrick’s Church in Castletara for the ceremony.

I had the honour of tagging along with Kaja and her family for the Mass and capturing those special moments in the church. Even though we couldn’t take photos outside, we managed to capture the heart of the day — the emotion, the meaning, and the love surrounding Kaja as she made her First Holy Communion.

Thank you, Kaja and family, for letting me be part of such an important day. Rain or shine, it was perfect.
