There are days that stay with you long after you’ve packed away your camera, and my afternoon at Castle Archdale Country Park in Co. Fermanagh was one of them. I had the pleasure of photographing two wonderful mothers and their teenage daughters during a special Mothers & Daughters Photography Session – four women whose bond is as natural and genuine as the landscape around us.
The weather offered its own quiet charm. It was a mostly cloudy day, with soft light rolling across the park and the occasional burst of sunshine slipping through the clouds. That gentle mix set the perfect tone: calm, relaxed, and beautifully real.
We began slowly. Like most sessions, there were a few first-minute nerves – completely normal when you’re stepping in front of the lens. But it didn’t take long before everyone settled in. A few shared laughs, a little encouragement, and suddenly that initial hesitation melted away. From there, everything unfolded naturally.
As we wandered through several spots in the park, the story of the day began to shape itself. Mothers and daughters walking side by side… woven hands… quiet moments where eyes met and unspoken love passed between them. These weren’t posed strangers performing for a camera – these were connected women simply being themselves, and that always makes the most powerful images.
What I loved most about this session was the rhythm we found together. No rush, no perfection chasing, just authentic interactions and the joy of capturing them. Each location brought out different sides of their personalities – playful, reflective, strong, gentle – and every frame felt like a little piece of who they are.
I invite you to journey through this special day with us.
Let these images speak to the beauty of family, the strength of connection, and the moments we sometimes forget to pause and cherish.
